Keyword density is an important important feature in SEO. Find out yours at http://www.keyworddensity.com/. Some say the optimum is 6-8%, others say Google doesn't care.

Vaughn Aubuchon's "1-pagers" can be very useful, particularly his summary of information on various aspects of Google. The section on how Google treats keywords, is excerpted below. The first three are considerably more effective than the remaining.
